Sunday July 15th: Editor’s Pick

10:00 at Spectacle Theater [Program & Tix]

DECODER
Muscha & Trimpop | 1984 |
W. Germany | 87m
10:00 at Spectacle

“[Trimpop] produced, wrote, and directed a handful of films, but his ace in the hole is 1984’s Decoder, which he wrote, produced, and collectively directed. This dystopian gem is all but forgotten, which is odd considering an all star cast – Genesis P-Orridge, William Burroughs, Christiane F., Bill Rice, and members of Einstürzende Neubauten are all featured. An expressionistic post-punk masterpiece, the film is ripe for rediscovery.”
